Nathaniel Rowan 5-String Acoustic Violin
Nathaniel Rowan is a great violin/viola maker from Vermont. Two years ago, I played bluegrass fiddler Darol Anger's Rowan violin, and I decided I needed to have a violin just like it. I connected with Nathan on Facebook to learn about his violins, and about a year later, he started making me a fiddle. We met at the 2017 Freshgrass to make the exchange. I couldn't have asked for a better person with whom to do business, and I'm more amazed by the violin every time I play it. I would most definitely recommend that other violinists check out Nathaniel Rowan's beautiful violins and consider making a great investment in their musical ability. www.facebook.com/nathanielrowanviolins/
Mark Wood 6-String Electric Viper
There is nothing like a Mark Wood electric violin. Mark Wood, an original member of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, has been creating state-of-the-art electric instruments for over thirty years. Few electric violins can come close to matching the quality, tone or awesomeness of a Wood. I met Mark years ago when he was a staff member at a summer music camp I attended. For years, I marveled at the thought of owning a Viper (Wood's flying-V design), and finally I ordered one in 2013. It is called "The Purple People Eater", as the custom paint job is based on a label I found on "The Purple People Eater" TNT fireworks box. Wood's team of makers and artists can basically create anything you can imagine in an electric violin. They are great to do business with and have very reasonable prices. Every serious electric violin player NEEDS a Mark Wood violin!
